We are looking for Head of PPC (Senior Manager / AGM) for our unit- BEC- I, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India
Key Responsibities
- PPC Expertise: Strong experience in Production Planning & Control within foundry and heavy casting environments.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings for material estimation, routing, and cycle time planning.
- ERP Systems: Proficient in ERP systems for production tracking, capacity planning, and workflow optimization.
- Foundry Operations: In-depth knowledge of moulding, melting, core making, fettling, machining, and inspection processes.
- Methoding & Process Planning: Expertise in gating, risering, pattern layout, core box design, and process optimization.
- Production & Machine Shop Scheduling: Coordination with foundry, CNC, VMC, and HMC operations with effective load balancing and resource utilization.
- Material Planning & Inventory Control: Skilled in MRP, procurement coordination, inventory management, and stock optimization.
- Capacity & Resource Management: Experience in bottleneck analysis, capacity planning, and production optimization.
- Quality & Compliance: Knowledge of ISO 9001, foundry quality standards, rejection analysis, process capability monitoring, and corrective actions.
- Material Flow & Logistics: Understanding of WIP control, material handling, storage, dispatch planning, and internal logistics.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Proficient in KPI, OEE, productivity, delivery, and inventory performance monitoring through MIS and dashboards.
- Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Cost & Productivity Management: Focused on cost reduction, cycle time improvement, resource optimization, and overall plant productivity.
Qualifications Requied
- B.E. / B.Tech. or M. Tech. in Mechanical, Production, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Experienced in ERP systems and data analysis tools.
- Strong skills in data management, reporting, and presentation preparation using Excel and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Ensure compliance with customer, statutory, and regulatory quality standards.
- Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities for castings.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Handle customer complaints, warranty issues, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate external certification audits.
- Monitor quality KPIs including rejection, rework, scrap, and customer PPM.
- Review inspection reports and ensure compliance with acceptance criteria.
- Lead supplier quality development and vendor audits.
- Train quality inspectors and engineers on inspection techniques and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Production, Melting, Fettling, Machine Shop, Design, Maintenance, Purchase, and Dispatch departments to ensure product quality.
- Ensure documentation, traceability, calibration, and quality records are maintained.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Proficient in KPI, OEE, productivity, delivery, and inventory performance monitoring through MIS and dashboards.

Qualifications Requied
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10–15 years of experience in Quality Assurance within a foundry or heavy engineering manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong expertise in implementing, maintaining, and auditing ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
- Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor (preferred).
- Sound knowledge of foundry manufacturing processes, including melting, moulding, core making, heat treatment, fettling, machining, and casting inspection.
- Hands-on experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, including Dye Penetrant Testing (PT/DP) Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Radiographic Testing (RT) Visual Testing (VT).
- Working knowledge of ASNT standards and certification requirements ASNT Level II certification preferred.
- Experience working with BARC quality requirements and documentation for nuclear or critical application castings is highly desirable.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, GD &T, material specifications, and customer quality requirements.
- Strong understanding of casting defects, metallurgical testing, dimensional inspection, and quality control techniques.
- Experience with quality tools and methodologies such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, CAPA, 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience in supplier quality management, customer audits, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficient in preparing and reviewing quality documentation, inspection reports, calibration records, audit reports, and compliance documentation.
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, and Customer Quality teams.
